Flash Back Friday - 1936

Bevins Family 1936
Iowa

This is my grandmother's family.  My grandma, Charlotte, is standing in the back on the right side.  She was about 13 in this picture. I inherited her mother's sewing machine (Beulah is the adult standing in the back).  Great grandpa Tom is holding his daughter Lois, in the front.  She died from illness at the age of 2 1/2. My great-grandmother had a total of 10 children, but only 6 lived to adulthood.

What a great picture! I love the little boy pouting in the front! Apparently it wasn't his happiest day to be photographed! Too bad to hear the little girl died shortly after this picture was taken, so many people died back then from curable diseases, they just didn't have the science we do now. Were the other children who passed in between the older kids and younger ones? There seems a good gap between some of them. My great grandma had 14 children and only 12 lived to adulthood. Just how the times were I guess. Thanks for the nice family picture to look at. The next question is has all the temple work been done for these family members yet? I have LOADS on my hubbies side to do still. Again thanks for a great picture!
