Chore Chart
The kids have been wanting to earn some money, so I devised a little chore chart with pay. Each week the children can pick age appropriate chores, not to exceed $5.00. They still will be required to do their normal morning chores (which we do not pay for). We feel it's important to teach the children to contribute to the househiold (without pay), but we also want to teach them how to manage their money. But how can they manage their money effectively when they rarely have a chance to earn it? We think this will be a happy balance.

If the children do not complete their "to-do" tasks, it's no big deal. There will be no yelling or reminding. They just won't get paid. Pretty simple.

Chores range from giving the dogs a bath to mopping the floors. Payment ranges from $0.25 to $3.00, depending on the skill level and time needed for a task.

This 50 year old chair deserved a post all to itself.  To see more pictures and read more about it, click HERE

This was a cooporative effort with Howard and I.  I started it, and he finished.  Team work, that's what's it's all about.

Trashed Wingback Chair

Remember this chair?  I found it on the side of the road. I started the project, but Howard finished it.  And when I say finished it, I mean he did about 95% of the work. Way to go honey!  It may look pink in the photo, but it's really a deep red gingham print with creme suede cording as a contrast.
